Faith in Action - Serving
“Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other. Work hard and serve the Lord enthusiastically. When God’s people are in need, be ready to help them. Always be eager to practice hospitality.” - Romans 12:10–13
One of the environments we endeavor to create for our children is the environment of Service. The environment of Service asks the question, “What needs to be done?” Serving is a hands on way to spread the LOVE of Jesus! Here are just a few ways our families can serve:
Family Element Serve: The first Sunday of the Month our families have an opportunity to serve during worship as they bring the elements to the Altar.
Common-Cupboard: A food pantry which feeds an average of 350 families per month.
Bright Blessings: Bright Blessings is a non-profit organization that bring birthdays to homeless and impoverished kids whose special day may otherwise go unnoticed. Our next family serve day is scheduled to take place on Sunday, May 1st.
ADRF - Advent 2014 Clean Water for Every Community: This Advent season we will be taking a look at the desperate need for clean water around the world, especially in Peru, and how individuals, families, and churches can partner with faithful Anglican churches to provide safe drinking water, and Living Water, to impoverished communities across the globe.
Operation Christmas Child: Pack a shoebox for a child in need.
Kairos of North Carolina: Make and decorate placemats for meals for inmates at state and federal prisons.
Brookstone School: Special activities, weekend festivals, planting flowers, collecting school supplies.
Family Serve Day April 3rd. We had a wonderful time making goodie bags and creating birthday hats
at Bright Blessings. Our next Family Serve Day is Sunday, May 1st.
